A Symbol of Yoga, Devotion and Selfless Service Shri Swami Sivanand, a 127-year-old spiritual yogi from Varanasi, is a remarkable figure known for his discipline, simplicity, and dedication to yoga and spirituality. Born in 1896, he lost his parents at a young age and was raised under spiritual guidance, living a life of strict austerity and service. He has travelled widely to spread the message of yoga, discipline, and selfless living. Despite his age, he maintains excellent health through a simple lifestyle, daily yoga, and meditation. In 2022, he was honoured with the Padma Shri for his immense contribution to yoga. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was also recognised by Shri Swami Sivanand Ji for his exceptional service, and honoured with a Certificate of Excellence by Shri Nitin Dhotiya. His life continues to inspire people worldwide with values of humility, dedication, and spiritual strength.

Shri Doltaram Maharaj, born in Norata (Patan), began his spiritual journey alongside his work at Dharoi Dam in 1972. Through intense meditation, yoga, and extreme discipline, he attained Kundalini awakening and devoted his life to bhajans, kirtans, and social reform, working to eliminate addiction and blind faith. For over 30 years, he has organized service camps, supported widows, helped underprivileged students, and carried out welfare activities like blood donation drives, water distribution, and healthcare services. He established three ashrams providing free food, accommodation, and spiritual guidance, along with a gaushala and regular community services. During COVID-19, he and his team distributed over 100,000 ration kits across multiple districts of Gujarat, setting an example of selfless service. For his contributions, he was honoured by multiple organizations including Niswarth Seva Sangathan and World Book of Records. His life remains a powerful example of devotion, service, and spirituality in Gujarat.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary, Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly and Chairman of Banas Dairy, played a crucial role in serving society. Under his leadership, youths came forward as Corona Warriors, helping the district recover quickly. Sadhu Shukdevprasad Swami’s life is a true example of selfless service and devotion. Born in Madhya Pradesh, he entered the Vadtal Swaminarayan sect at the age of eight and became a sadhu at eighteen, dedicating his life to spirituality and humanity. At 21, he established Gokuldham Nar in 2004, which has grown into a 32-acre center serving education, healthcare, and social welfare. During the COVID-19 pandemic, under his leadership, Gokuldham Nar supported over 35 villages with essential supplies, financial aid, and established a 100-bed COVID Care Center where 600+ patients were treated with zero deaths. They also imported 80 oxygen machines from Germany and launched the “Hospital at Your Door” initiative with full medical and emotional support. For his remarkable service, he was honoured with an Excellence Certificate by Niswarth Seva Sangathan, presented by Chairman Nitin Dhotiya. His life stands as a powerful inspiration of faith, compassion, and true humanitarian service.

IPS officer Akshayraj Makwana, serving as SP of Banaskantha during the second wave of COVID-19, was honoured as a “Corona Warrior” by Shri Nitin Dhotiya and featured in the Corona Warriors Magazine for his exceptional service. He effectively combined technology and compassion to help people during the crisis. He developed a web application that provided real-time information on hospital beds, oxygen, and treatment facilities, benefiting districts like Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, and Banaskantha. He also ensured COVID testing, quarantine, food, water, and transportation for migrant workers. Under his leadership, the police carried out humanitarian efforts such as delivering medicines, distributing food, and supporting citizens beyond law enforcement. Shivraj Dhanraj Gilva, an officer who rose from clearing GPSC to become the first Mamlatdar from the Charan community, was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by Shri Nitin Dhotiya and featured in the Corona Warriors Magazine for his exceptional service during COVID-19. Shri Parthibhai (P.J.) The historic temple, located on Patthar Road, holds a 450-year-old idol discovered in Takarwada and is a major center of devotion. For over 21 years, Mahant Shri has served the temple with dedication. During the pandemic, he provided free meals to hospital patients and their families and distributed essential ration kits to local residents. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the 108 Ambulance service became a true lifesaver, often described as giving people a second chance at life—even when others were afraid to help. Known for its strong emergency response, Gujarat’s 108 service stood out as one of the most experienced in the country. The 108 team answered thousands of emergency calls, reaching patients like angels in critical times, wearing PPE kits for long hours without rest, and risking their own lives to save others. Their efforts helped prevent countless family tragedies. Located in the village of Changwada, Vatila Hanuman Dham has long been a sacred place of devotion. Vatila Dham is a serene spiritual center providing peace to devotees, led by Shri Bipinbhai Ujabhai Patel, a devoted Hanumanji follower for over 30 years since the age of nine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he and the temple carried out remarkable humanitarian work. They performed 125,000 mantra oblations in 48 hours and distributed 2,200 grocery kits to needy families. The temple also served meals to over 51,000 devotees, provided sweaters and study materials to children, and supported pregnant women during childbirth—all without seeking publicity. Vatila Dham also promotes social reform by eliminating superstitions and addictions, helping over 500 families adopt better lifestyles. A dedicated team of 17 members worked tirelessly day and night, and with two liquid oxygen tankers, they ensured rapid distribution. Even after losing around 700 cylinders during operations, they continued their service without interruption. He has served as BJP Youth Wing President in Lakhani and Vice President of Taluka Panchayat, and also led relief efforts during the 2015–17 floods, providing food and medical aid. During lockdown, when migrant workers travelled on foot without food or shelter, he set up a service camp at the toll plaza, providing meals, tea, water, medicines, and essential support. Shri Jashubhai Dahyabhai Chouhan of Sakalana (Vadgam Taluka) was honoured with a Certificate of Excellence by Shri Nitin Dhotiya for his exceptional service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rising from a challenging background, he pursued ITI studies while working and later became active in politics, serving as BJP SC Front President and District General Secretary. During the lockdown, he worked tirelessly day and night, assisting patients, managing oxygen supply, handling essential services, and even helping with funeral arrangements to support families in crisis. Honoured in recognition of his dedication, his life stands as an inspiring example of struggle, service, and commitment to society, earning deep respect across the region.

Ankitaben Thakor was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by Shri Nitin Dhotiya for her remarkable service during the COVID-19 pandemic. She actively supported the community during a time of crisis, helping people manage hospital challenges, treatment needs, and daily essentials. She played a vital role in caring for pregnant women, ensuring support for around 30 deliveries, and arranged food supplies and daily meals for needy families with the help of leaders like Maheshbhai Patel. Shri Jesangbhai Rajsangbhai Chaudhary, originally from the diamond industry and now a successful bicycle businessman near Ganj, Dairy Road, is known for his kind and generous nature. Inspired by his mother Muliben, he has helped many poor children by gifting bicycles and supporting their dreams. He has also contributed significantly to education by paying school fees and providing study materials to needy students with the support of his family. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he extended help by distributing ration kits and financial assistance to many families.
